Junior Mechanical Technologist
Full Time Position, Calgary – Alberta
Start: When Available

Description

The individual will be responsible for testing of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stacks, maintaining/repairing test equipment, analyzing test data, and assisting with computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting and procurement of components and assemblies. This supportive role will require interaction and coordination with many aspects of technology development, potentially including: engineering design, failure analysis, pilot production, materials, and testing. While performing analytical testing, the successful candidate will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation devices to ensure that stack performance targets are being met.

Experience & Education

Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma from an accredited technical school.

Up to five years experience.

Skills

• Hands on experience with experimental design, assembly, and test
• Knowledge of testing and analysis techniques considered an asset
• Software experience with Labview an asset
• A self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment
• Flexible and results-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Keen attention to detail and diligence to process and process improvement
• Mechanical design experience with exposure to CAD tools such as SolidWorks
• Interest in fuel cells/green technology
• Experience involving high temperature (>600°C) operating environments an asset
